I was celebrating my cousin’s birthday about a week ago. He had just turned 19 and we were doing a pre-party at a condo building in the party room with his closest friends. I was sitting on the couch with one his friends and he was telling me about how he wanted to become an MMA fighter. He mentioned how he trains hard for it, but he doesn’t believe he could succeed at the top level. We had a discussion on how he should go full fledge into it and never look back. My mind began to wonder as I was sipping my drink thinking about all other people out there with big-time talent, but never take the initiative to pursue it full-time instead of dabbling with it as a hobby.
My mind shifted towards death (I know, you are at a party and you start thinking of death, doesn’t make sense). I thought about the last seconds you have left on earth, and just imagining being on your death bed & standing around you are the ideas, the dreams that have been given to you by life. The talents, the gifts that you have never nurtured, never developed, the skills that you never did anything with standing around you looking at you with large angry eyes saying “we came to you! Only YOU could have given us life! And now we must die with you forever!” The question is if you died now, what dreams, what ideas, what talents, what abilities will die with you? The wealthiest place on the planet is not in the Far East where they have oil in the ground, or South Africa where they have diamond mines. The wealthiest place on earth is the cemetery. There you will find dreams not pursued, songs never sung, business ideas never executed, athletic talent never put to work, books that were never put to writing, and all unique abilities never put to use. You survived 1 out of 40 million sperm cells. You were born to win! God wants you to be rich, successful, and live the abundant life. Everyone has genius in themselves. All great people took the chance to put crazy ideas to work. That iPhone in the palm of your hand is a prime example. You only get one shot on earth. Put those thoughts and “unrealistic” ideas to work. You’ll always end out on top.
